THE HONORARY TITLE @ EL REY
THE HONORARY TITLE @ EL REY THEATER

It was a real treat seeing the Honorary Title last week at the El Rey Theater. We’ve followed them for quite sometime now and are still surprised that mainstream radio hasn’t picked them up. Lead singer, Jarrod Gorbel, is not only an incredible singer/songwriter, but he’s got one of the most charismatic stage presenses we’ve seen. Maybe its because he’s a total stud and the girls absolutely adore him, but still, he writes some catchy songs that you can easily make out to.

For these reasons we were even more shocked to learn that The Honorary Title was the opening act for the Mae show last week. I guess we weren’t the only ones…The band opened their set with some old classics like “Bridge and Tunnel,” “Frame by Frame,” and “Everything I Once Had” but quickly went into their newer songs like their single, “Stuck at Sea” which the crowd knew every word to. Overall, the band killed it. After they finished their set, everyone in the audience was chanting “One More Song!” and unfortunately, an encore never happened. Hopefully this gesture has inspired the Honorary Title to come back to visit us again real soon!
